IMPLEMENTATION POLICIES FOR DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION: WHAT THE 2024–2034 NATIONAL EDUCATION PLAN PROPOSAL SAYS

The study analyzes the perspectives related to the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in education, presented in Bill nº. 2,614/2024, which establishes the new National Education Plan (PNE). The proposal is compared with the current PNE (2014-2024) through a quantitative-qualitative approach and content analysis, according to Bardin (2016). The results reveal a greater emphasis on educational technologies in the new PNE, with targets aimed at public policies in this area. However, the absence of specific guidelines for Distance Education (EaD), digital collections, and digital libraries regarding the use of technologies was observed. Artificial intelligence is not addressed in the proposal’s goals and strategies. Despite these gaps, the new PNE represents progress by including a specific goal on connectivity, digital citizenship, and technological inclusion.
