PARAGUAY'S EDUCATIONAL REFORM IN 1994: AN EDUCATIONAL MANAGER'S PERSPECTIVE

This research aimed to analyze the historical and political context that resulted in the educational reform in Paraguay, which took place in 1994, in order to better understand Paraguayan education today, highlighting the advances and setbacks that have occurred since the aforementioned reform. The empirical research was conducted through a recorded interview with a professional, identified here as Manager PY, Who actively participated in the educational reform process in Paraguay in the 1990s. The results show that there were no setbacks, but rather advances, as the Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) sought to develop new strategies and createconditionsso that teachers would have access to training and could work towards prioritizing the quality of education and, above all, contributing to the consolidation of democracy.
