This bibliographical article carries out a critical-reflexive analysis of the 60th anniversary of the Military Coup in Brazil, seeking to examine the intersections between education, democracy and authoritarianism, through the dialectical method of Frankfurtian Critical Theory, which casts a critical eye on social and political structures, as well as around conservatism. In this sense, it aims to highlight traditional and institutional views, seeking to understand how educational policies were impacted by the conservative narratives of the authoritarian Regime, highlighting latent contradictions in Brazilian society.
