This study sought to identify and analyze trends and perspectives in research on Learning Based on Problem Solving (ABRP) in Geography. A survey of academic articles indexed in the Web Of Science (WoS) was carried out in two stages. The analysis reveals that ABRP is essential in the training of Geography teachers, promoting conceptual understanding and pedagogical skills. It encourages students' active participation in basic education, boosting meaningful learning and developing skills such as critical and spatial thinking. We conclude by recognizing the need for continuous methodological improvement of the ABRP.
