This essay aims to reflecton popular education and participatory design in the context of technical assistance in Architecture, emphasizing aspects related to participatory and collaborative methods. The study adopted a bibliographic review as a methodological procedure to understand the topics discussed. It was identified that Freirean popular education and participatory design share similarities in terms of practices. For technical assistance professionals, both approaches serve to promote inclusion and dialogue, strengthening collective construction, community autonomy, and the understanding of latent needs. Through this essay, it was understood that these approaches have the potential to improve community engagement and enhance project solutions, contributing to the quality of life and social housing for residents of marginalized communities.
