BUILDING INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE IN THE PRACTICE OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN MEXICO

The objective of this work is to present an analysis of the experiences built on intercultural dialogue in community bonding practices, carried out by the Universidad Intercultural del Estado de Puebla, Mexico, through immersions with indigenous students, in their communities, in the interdisciplinary teaching-learning process. The conceptual theoretical framework of understanding interculturality becomes possible by reading the paulofreireana dialogity, to understand the dialogue of knowledge and its practical reach in Mexico. The methodology is structured in the documentary review for the presentation of the Intercultural Education Model, its policies that lead to the creation of Intercultural Universities and the implementation of the community linkage project as a training axis in these institutions. Data collected in projects that were developed by the methodology of participatory research and successfully carried out during the work developed at the Intercultural University of the State of Puebla are recovered. The results bring important findings to dialogue about the diversity of modes of interactions generated during practices developed in the municipality of Pahuatlán Del Valle and in indigenous communities in the northern Sierra of Puebla, Mexico.
