INCLUSIVE EDUCATIONAL ACTIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER IN HIGHER EDUCATION: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF BRAZILIAN ARTICLES

The main objective of this article was to analyze the discussions undertaken in Brazilian articles about the inclusive actions proposed by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). To this end, the CAPES and SciELO platforms were consulted, using the descriptors: Autism Spectrum Disorder, ASD, autistic, autism, Higher Education and university, combined by the Boolean operator and, between the years 2019 and 2023. The study was based on a qualitative approach to data, and Bardin's (2011) methodology was used to analyze the selected texts. As a result, 10 articles that met the study criteria were selected for analysis. It was concluded that the participation of students with ASD has led to improvements in educational processes at HEIs, promoted by the implementation of accessibility centers and inclusion programs. However, many actions to guarantee access, permanence, equity and success for students with ASD are in the process of being built and implemented. Among the challenges pointed out by the students are the lack of professional training, the low supply of individualized teaching plans, the lack of dissemination of clear information about the spectrum, and difficulties in communicating and getting along with teachers and classmates, as well as challenges in assessments.
