The objective of this study is to present the development of the Scale Perception of Attitudes of Professors and Implications of Work in Graduation (EPAPITG). 191 students from 16 engineering courses participated in the study. The scale demonstrated satisfactory psychometric indices, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin measure was 0.77 and Bartlett's test of sphericity was significant. Factor analysis revealed the presence of two factors and significant differences (p < 0.050) were identified when comparing students divided by color, type of educational system attended and participation in affirmative action programs. Students from less favored social classes perceived less proactive attitudes from teachers in relation to their learning. The scale appears as an important instrument in collecting information about higher education students.
