This manuscript forms part of a doctoral thesis in progress and aims to investigate the presence of women in higher engineering courses at universities in Portugal. Our research adopts a quantitative approach. Let's see what happened in Portugal in terms of training in Higher Education from 2015 to 2019 (choice made to make a cut of the last 5 years when the theoretical framework was constructed), based on the numbers presented in the graphs. The results demonstrated that although the number of women enrolled has been increasing, the number in Engineering is still low when compared to Human Sciences courses.
