Abstract

The family Vochysiaceae A. St.-Hil. includes eight genus and 240 species, distributed in America and Occidental Tropical Africa. The American species are common in Brazilian Central Plateau, mostly possess ornamental and medicinal potential. This paper presents data of geographical distribution, phenology and keys for identification of species from Goiás Southwest. The study area are localizedamong coordinates 53,30o – 51,30o W and 16,30o – 19,00o S. The results reflect an analysis of botanical material data collected in micro region and deposited in herbaria. In the region occurs the genus Vochysia Aubl. (six species), Qualea Mart.(three species), Callisthene Mart. and Salvertia A. St.-Hil. (one specie each). The species flowering was distributed throughout the year, but the fructification was pronounced in the June, July, August and September (dry season). Callisthene major Mart., Vochysia elliptica Mart. and V. pyramidalis Mart. are endemics from Brazil. The remaining presents distribution intwo to five from American countries.

Luzia Francisca de Souza, Universidade Federal de Goiás, Unidade Jataí

Licenciada em Ciências Biológicas (Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, 1992), especialista em Biologia de ambientes inundáveis (UFMT, 1995), mestre em Etnobotânica (UFMT, 1998) e doutora em Biologia Vegetal (Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho 2009). Foi bolsista do CNPq (1990-93), CAPES (1995-98). Foi professora auxiliar na UFMT (1995) e na UNEMAT (1996). É professor efetivo da Universidade Federal de Goiás Unidade Jataí desde 1998, estando atualmente na classe Adjunto II, ministrando aulas de Morfologia, taxonomia vegetal e Botânica Econômica. Fundadora e coordenadora do Herbário Jataiense Prof. Germano Guarim Neto (1998-2006), atualmente é curadora das coleções deste herbário. É membro da Sociedade Botânica do Brasil, atuando nas comissões de Etnobotânica (2000-2002), Herbários do Brasil (2011-2013). É membro do Conselho Ambiental do município de Jataí desde 2009. Atua em projetos de pesquisa de conservação da diversidade florística do Bioma Cerrado e saberes relacionados, com ênfase às fanerógamas, especialmente aquelas de importância econômica do Sudoeste de Goiás.
