Abstract

Intonation is especially relevant in the performance of fretted string instruments. In this qualitative descriptive-exploratory study, five experts on the subject were interviewed. The participants recognized the complexity of intonation and proposed developmental stages involving sensitization to sounds through imitation and active listening. In addition, voice and body perception of string vibrations were considered important. It is suggested to continue investigating the effectiveness of didactic strategies used to improve intonation skills in students of different levels and contexts.

José Eduardo Álamos, Professor of Musical Education, Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Playa Ancha, Chile and Master in Research in Specific Didactics from the University of Valencia, Spain. Parallel to his work as a teacher in primary and secondary education in different Chilean schools, he has worked as a teacher in the Department of Social Sciences of the University of Chile, at the Faculty of Art of the University of Playa Ancha of Education Sciences and at the University Academy of Christian Humanism, where he held the position of Coordinator of Practices within the Pedagogy in Music Career. In the area of ??research, he has publications and papers specialized in music cognition and music teaching. Currently, sponsored by the National Commission of Scientific and Technological Research of Chile (CONICYT), he is pursuing a Doctorate in Specific Didactics at the University of Valencia, Spain.

Marcela Paz Oyanedel Silva, Licenciada en Música (1987, Universidad de Chile), Profesora Especializada en Teoría General de la Música (1996, Universidad de Chile), Magister en Educación, mención Currículo y comunidad Educativa (2012, Universidad de Chile). Profesora Asociada de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile. Se ha desempeñado como docente en diferentes universidades de Chile tanto públicas como privadas. Se ha presentado en congresos de Chile y otros países como Perú, Argentina, Brasil, Costa Rica. Ha colaborado en investigaciones con la Universidad de Valencia, España. Integrante consejo científico de revista electrónica española LEEME. Actualmente, se desempeña como académica y jefa de carrea de Interpretación Musical, en el Departamento de Música de la Facultad de Artes, Univesridad de Chile.

Tomás Thayer Morel (Santiago de Chile, 1962). Es Licenciado en Música (U. de Chile,1987), Magíster en Educación con mención en Informática Educativa (U. de Chile, 2008), Diplomado en Educación Emocional (UNESCO, 2003) y Diplomado en Pedagogía Virtual (UMCE - U. de Lund, 2009). Profesor Asociado de la Universidad Austral de Chile, Investigador, académico y candidato a Doctor en el programa de Didácticas Específicas en la U. de Valencia. Su campo de investigación es la relación interdisciplinaria entre música, pedagogía y tecnología. Miembro profesional y co-fundador de la Red Campus Sustentable de universidades chilenas. Es Intérprete de Bansuri (flauta de bambú clásica de la India) y discípulo del Maestro Senior de Música Clásica del Norte de India, G.S. Sachdev.
