A Iniciação Científica na Educação Integral de Goiás: Atuação, Formação Continuada de Perspectivas Docentes

Teaching through investigative approaches brings Science closer to students' daily lives and helps promote
scientific literacy. In Goiás, the Scientific Initiation curricular component is present in the curricular matrix
of the Full-Time Education Centers in the State of Goiás and its goal is to promote scientific initiation
through research-based teaching. The present study is an action research, which sought to verify the profile
and performance of education professionals who work in Scientific Initiation, as well as to promote and
investigate the effectiveness of a continuing education course. The research results indicated that the
majority of teachers had no contact with research-based teaching and scientific practice during their initial
training, and therefore, have little understanding of the subject, which is reflected in their teaching practice.
Therefore, they present difficulties in planning classes and conducting activities in the curricular
component, which makes it necessary to establish, as public management, the continued training of
teachers, so that they can learn from the curricular changes that the teaching profession requires.
