Qualidade Social da educação na primeiríssima infância: docência em foco

This article analysis the conceptions, the potentialities, and the specific challenges of teaching in early childhood
education from the standpoint of the social quality of education. Thus, we compared the discourses of teachers and
pedagogical coordinators who work in the municipal education system of São Paulo with those present in the
educational legislation, using document analysis and semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was inspired by
Content Analysis. The results show, among other aspects, the importance of legitimizing (social) quality indicators
constructed with the participation of educators who work in early childhood education, among other aspects.
