Anti-ableism and anti-racist practices in the university extension during the pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: The intersectionality between race and disability is an important issue that needs to be expanded in universities and its visibility exposes the fragility of academic formations to deal with this issue. The general objective of this work is to report the experience of displacement and invention of anti-ableism and anti-racist extensionist practices to/in the digital ecosystem, during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodology used is anchored in Popular Education by Paulo Freire, in the Engaged Pedagogy by bell hooks and in storytelling. In this way, it aims to promote spaces that develop intersectional discussions between racism and ableism. In the pandemic lives and online seminars being tools for acting and reaching the community in general, allowing the dissemination and approximation of black people with disabilities, even if in a limited way. The results are satisfactory, demonstrating public support for the proposed activities and debates.
