EDITORIAL POLICIES

The Contabilidade & Inovação Journal (RCI), ISSN 2764-3336, belongs to the Federal University of Goiás. The Laboratório de Contabilidade, Inovação e Sociedade (LACIS/UFG) administers it.
RCI is an open access journal, free and unrestricted, that will permanently publish scientific research with potential theoretical, practical and social impacts.
RCI focuses on publishing papers with different methodological approaches, which favor new discoveries in the context of management, with priority given to the following topics:
- Innovation Management for Development.

- Diversity and Inclusion in the Organizational and Accounting Context.

Open access policy
RCI does not charge any fees for submission or publication of texts.
RCI follows international guidelines for the democratization of science, encouraging open access to scientific knowledge. All published texts are free of charge, allowing copying and dissemination, if the original publication is properly quoted. The journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-by).
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Anti-racism statement
RCI guarantees its commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, accessibility, and anti-racism throughout the editorial process. We encourage research that broadens representation and values the inclusion of different perspectives, populations, and contexts. Authors are encouraged to describe and justify their research, considering aspects such as gender, ethnicity, and other forms of diversity. The use of inclusive language is strongly encouraged. The CRediT model is adopted for authorship attribution, ensuring equitable recognition. Reviewers and editors should be alert to bias and report any form of discrimination to the Editor-in-Chief.
Periodicity
The RCI submission flow is uninterrupted with continuous publication, one volume per year.
Language
RCI publishes scientific research in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and it is recommended that abstracts be submitted in all three languages.
Double-blind evaluation
The evaluation process is done by sending the manuscript to two or three reviewers in a double-blind review format, so that the reviewers assigned to evaluate the manuscript must not be aware of the identity of the authors, just as the authors must not know who their reviewers are, ensuring the impartiality of the analysis. If any reviewer could identify the authorship of the manuscript, he or she must declare a conflict of interest.
Ethics policy
The Contabilidade & Inovação Journal adopts ethical principles and standards in all phases of the publishing process, including authors, editors and reviewers. To this end, we use the following references:
ANPAD Good Practices Handbook on scientific publications.
Anti-plagiarism policy
During the desk review process, RCI assesses the manuscript for plagiarism, which is characterized by the uncredited use of other authors' work as if it were original.
Therefore, authors must guarantee the originality of submitted manuscripts, ensuring that third-party research or their own previously published texts are properly quoted. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication of data will be considered unethical conduct and, therefore, it will not be accepted in the editorial context.
Consequently, authors may be questioned during the evaluation process regarding nonconformities identified by the software used for analysis. If plagiarism is proved, after the full defense stage, the author(s) involved will be permanently prohibited from submitting to RCI.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) use policy
Our policy on the use of AI seeks to ensure transparency in the editorial process.
To the authors: The use of AI is prohibited for the stages of writing, text preparation, analysis of results, and is only permitted to improve language, create images (with due citation), and review the formatting of bibliography, with human supervision and indicated in the mandatory AI Use Statement for the published article. In general, AI tools cannot be authors since the authors are responsible for the content.
To the reviewers and editors: we recommend that you do not submit manuscripts to AI, because it compromises confidentiality. AI cannot be used in the evaluation or editorial decision, which is the responsibility of the editor.
In addition, RCI proposes responsible and moderate use of AI as recommended by the UFG Academic Integrity Guide.
Consent statement
To register the contribution of each author (up to 5 authors), a statement of consent with the names of the authors and their individual contributions must be submitted after the text is approved.
RCI adopts the taxonomy indicated by CRediT (https://credit.niso.org).
