In 1845, tenor and impresario Giuseppe Marinangeli (c.1818-1876) returned to Brasil besides some lyric artists, among them his young wife, the soprano Marietta Marinangeli. They brought lyric novelties to brazilian theaters, including the debut of Ernani and therefore the Verdi debut in the American continent. This opera was premiered in Recife and was repeated in Rio de Janeiro. This text recovers press records about such performances and explores the context at that moment, by events and charactersDownloads
