The objective of this work is to analyze the possibilities of implantation of an Interdisciplinary Program of Rural Education in the cities of Planalto Norte of Santa Catarina. The semi-structured interviews were carried out with representatives of four municipalities in the region of the Associação dos Municípios do Planalto Norte Catarinense (Amplanorte). From the analysis, it is clear the need to deepen the discussions regarding the different modalities of Education, as is the case of Rural Education. There is a lack of rural schools in the municipalities and, even when present, the lack of an adapted curriculum that is contextualized with the specificities of students. Finally, the importance of Rural Education for the region is evident, as it presents relevant agricultural production characteristics, as well as the existence of a good part of the regional population living in rural areas.
