Abstract

This text presents the result of a reseach about how gastronomy is presented in touristic supplement of some of the most important brazilian newspapers. The author conceives news in its important role on the construction of social representations of identities and cultures, and explains how the ways of presentation of the news and their hierarchy in the newspapers lead to some senses, pretending to be the "natural" way of conceiving food and gastronomy.
