Abstract

The objective of this work is to verify the relevance of the teacher intervention in the proposals of language
teaching in the didactic book. For that, it is based on the theory of linguistic analysis, based on authors, such as:
Geraldi (1997) Antunes (2009), Bezerra and Reinaldo (2013), in the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (1997)
and uses as object of analysis a book of the A basic education evaluated by the National Textbook Program and
adopted by a school of the State of Goiás State network. In this way the research seeks to observe the process of
evaluation and legitimation of the book, the changes implemented throughout its history, the role that teacher Has
exercised in the classroom, and thus verifies the implications of the practice of linguistic analysis in the textbook
analyzed and in the teaching work. Therefore, the research confirms the need for an effective intervention, since
the book can not promote the necessary conditions for a reflexive analysis of the language, since it is the interactive
activities, promoted by teacher mediation, that guarantees conditions for reflective and contextualized teaching.
