This article deals with the backyard as an eco-formative installation of knowledge and experiences in early
childhood education, proposed in the practices of internships of the Physical Education course at UNIVALI, in
times of pandemic. The research was qualitative, in the phenomenological perspective. In the internship, the
educational experiences were organized in the pedagogical didactic planning by ten interns, with weekly meetings.
Data collection took place through reports, which were the basis of content for understanding the research on the
internship. The results showed that, in times of a pandemic, the backyard can be understood as an eco-formative
installation that provided educational experiences of interaction between the child, culture, nature in the family
environment. The backyard presented itself as a place of (self) organization of knowledge, expanding the
perceptive and expressive capacities of the child and the trainee. The remotely directed practices provided an
opportunity for an interdisciplinary creative dialogue, as each being in their world learned to learn through free
play in the expansion of imagination, sensations and perceptions of significant and educational languages.
