The implementation of the New Secondary Education in Mato Grosso represented significant changes in the educational provision of the public education network in general. The organization of curricular componentes into a General Base, Training Itineraries (in-depth Tracks, Electives and Life Project) directly impacted the concepts and categories of Geography that ar worked on in High School. This work results from a research problem in which we seek to understand the place of Geography within a project to expand military schools and the implementation of New Hig School in Mato Grosso. To this end, the Mato Grosso Curricular Reference Document (DRC-MT) Secondary Education stage, which was linked to the national Common Curricular Base (BNCC). These documents guide teaching work based on skills and abilities based on learnig axes that encompass scientific knowledge, creative processes, sociocultural intervention and entrepreneurship.
