Safeguarding architectural heritage is important so that everyone can enjoy the different memories it contains, as many of the heritage assets carry an expressive load of stories and memories of the past, providing the transmission of knowledge to future generations. Through a bibliographic and documental research, the text intends to reflect the preservation and heritage education as possibilities to provide a human and citizen education in the cities in order to instigate in the subjects the (re) knowledge of their heritages and the preservation of heritage architecture still remaining. In this sense, architectural heritage is established by a set of materialities that hold important elements for the history and memory of the place, whether presented by the essence of its architectural style, constructive technique, or even events that brought a historical-cultural context. to the building. Therefore, heritage education must be inserted in all spaces that have life leading, from children to the elderly, reflections on the importance of the binomial preservation and education, as it is configured as an efficient alternative for the safeguarding of architectural heritage, as it is, from it, that individuals (re)know and understand the entire context in which they are inserted.
