BOOKS FOR GEOGRAPHY TEACHERS: SOME NOTES ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SCHOOLED GEOGRAPHY
Keywords:
textbooks, schooled geography, teacher education/trainingAbstract
Reflecting on the role of textbooks in the basic training in Geography is the heart of this discussion, which arises from understanding the importance of such textbooks as disseminators of ways of teaching, beyond the curricular prescription, are holders of a consolidated epistemology of schooled Geography, mainly from 1990´s on in Brazil. The period corresponds to the expansion of the research lines in graduate programs in Geography (CAVALCANTI, 2016). The works identified in the federal educational institutions, which provide Teaching Degree courses in Geography, are acknowledged in their discourse when they are included in the bibliography. Thus, it is possible to identify the hubs which disseminate these ideas based on the fact they have occurred in over 15 institutions found nationwide.
