THE GEOGRAPHICAL KNOWLEDGE AND THE FORMATION BY SCHOOL EDUCATION

This article speaks to presentation of a theoretical reflection resulting of the researches and studies developed over the years by RETLEE - Research Laboratory Representations, Spaces, Times and Languages in Educative Experiences, of UNIOESTE, Francisco Beltrão campus. Aim at presents notes about how the geographical knowledge teaching involve in a human formation, resulting, mainly, this process, little evidenced and valued in Geography teacher practice. This text brings a reflection about the teachers acting that teach Geography and the possible consequences to this field of knowledge. Point the relationship between the signs field and geographic concepts to the human development and citizen action at the world, as of Santos (2009, 2012), Duarte (2000, 2004), Vigotski (2009, 2001), Leontiev (1978). Conclude with the study that Geography formation is a formation to the citizen and, therefore, humanizing. Highlight that the Geography concepts are important to ensure the child initial formation, as a theoretical thinking, as to citizen.
