Abstract

This article discusses the production of a pedagogical game about Colonial Brazil, focused on the historical context of the Palmares Quilombo War, aimed at Middle School classes, with a perspective of resistance to the Eurocentric view of History. Based on theoretical and methodological discussions about using games as a pedagogical tool for the subject and based on previous experiences, we structured the proposal by outlining how they work and their potential. This game represents an attempt to build a meaningful teaching-learning process with active student participation. The proposal was designed to serve as inspiration for other teachers in school experiments that seek to break with a still traditional view of history.
