Social work and university extension in the dispute for an emancipatory education

The article discusses social work and university extension articulated with teaching and research. It Problematize the extension locus in the pedagogical political project, affirming emancipatory education in contrast to the vertical logic of oppressive education. The concrete experience of the Study, Research and Extension Group on Children, Adolescents and Families reflects the role of the University in the realization of its social function in a context of dismantling of education that directly affects policies in this area.
