Historical Revisionism and Education for Barbarism
The Brasil Paralelo's Truth

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the educational and political implications of the revisionist and self-proclaimed neutral discourse of the production company “Brasil Paralelo” for the Brazilian democracy. It used bibliographic research, especially Adorno, and the company’s productions, especially the documen-tary “1964: Brazil between weapons and books”. The article is orga-nized in three parts: in the first, it stresses the relationship between barbarism and informal and non-formal education, in the second it discusses the alleged neutrality and scientificity of the Brasil Pa-ralelo’s productions, and, in the third, it stresses the educational and political implications of revisionist discourse. It concludes that the alleged neutrality and rigor embrace a unscientific project of barbarization that corrodes inside the Brasilian democracy.
