Abstract

This paper has as aim at analyzing and recuing the ide-as of Ukrainian socialist educator and writer Anton Semionovich Makarenko (1888-1939), highlighting his important work in the struggle for a new socialist pedagogy. The methodology adopted was based on bibliographic research consulting papers of journals, books, thesis and dissertations which approach the author. It in-tended to analyze his educational pedagogy in the social praxis perspective in the fundamental categories: collectivity, self-mana-gement and work. It searched for related purposes of Brazilian so-cial movements which adopted some guidelines from the author’s thoughts. In its conclusions, the paper demonstrates the need for rethink the daily humanization and emancipation activities of hu-man being, so we could understand the education as an instru-ment to build a new social reality.
