Musical Image and Musical Hermeneutics: a possible tool for creative Piano (Music) teaching

Resumen

Considering that many students do not let their imaginative potential fully develop during their formation years we will demonstrate in this paper that Intonasiya/Musical Image paired with Musical Hermeneutics may be an interesting alternative for a creative approach in piano teaching. To achieve that we’ll plunge into the 19^th century debate about the possibility of music to be able to represent, to have meaning, discuss the concepts of Intonasiya/Musical Image and Hermeneutical Windows and last but not least, advocate that these tools can be useful for Piano and music instruction stimulating creativity

Ernesto Hartmann was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is B.M in Piano Performance (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ), M.M in Piano Performance (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ), Ph.D. in Music Language/Composition and Theory (Federal University of State of Rio de Janeiro – UNIRIO). Since 2008 he serves as Associate Professor at Federal University of Espírito Santo-Brazil in appointments in Musical analysis and Composition Classes. As a pianist he has a long career as chamber musician in Brazil playing with many musicians in almost all states and in other countries of South America.
