The political participation of the intellectuals can take place in a traditional or organic way, the former being a form of political expression, developed in a disinterested and non-mechanical way. The political participation exercised by the musical artistic cultural expression is traditional, signaled by Gramsci as a form of expression of personality and political ideals, and is timeless. In this study we analyze the political participation of the great Soviet composers, through their life and work, identifying the moments in which they gave to the world a differentiated view of the national feeling before the communist regime that was constituted in the USSR, often being questioned or censored.
