Abstract

This work has the purpose to explain the foremost opinions expressed in "Vers une musique informelle", by Theodor Adorno, a reflection on the contemporary production of musical composition. As the title itself makes clear, through a detailed analysis of the musical panorama of his time, the author expounds ideas on the future of music, propounding, following the exhaustion of the New Music, a new relationship between composer and freedom. Without claiming to give a conclusive answer on the matter, Adorno weaves critics on his time and on the future, considering that it is pressing for music and for the musical theory to reflect on its processes.
