STRAVINSKY: THE PROGRESS OF A METHOD

Abstract

This paper is essentially a translational work, where the Stravinsky: the progress of a method original article by Edward T. Cone is translated into Portuguese. There is a short introduction to the original text pointing out historical features related with its first publication, and concerning its impact over the post-war American musicology. Beyond the historical relevance, this translation is justified by the theoretical content in itself, since dealing with interesting compositional resources and helpful analytical devices.
