Abstract

This paper brings forward the theme of music teacher education, which is discussed here in the light of contemporary theories that have served as a basis for recent music education research on the topic. In this sense, this work reviews different concepts and characteristics of studies on teachers’ reflexivity, competence and knowledge base. It also presents some contributions of studies linked to these bases of reference, already accomplished in the field of music.
