When we affirm the possibility of two versions about the same musical text (sheet) we have the evidence to establish that two different performers built different senses about the very same idea. This affirmation is also true for reading texts, like narrative, dissertative and argumentative texts, etc., for instance; as the studies in cognitive psychology and psycholinguistics have showed. In that way, this paper aims to discuss theoretically about the inferential process of the musical text, relating it with the studies of reading and producing meaning of texts. Keywords: Musical interpretation; Cognitive process; Inference.
