THE VIRTUAL MUSIC LIBRARY OF UFSC IN THE POINTS OF CULTURE NETWORK

Abstract

The virtual library of music - the VLM of UFSC Big Point of Culture is an innovative way of mediation between music producers and users in the information society. Intellectual property is a challenge for formation of music collections for open access. Despite this, proliferate-sharing sites on the Internet. An international community of researchers in the organization and retrieval of music was born. The VLM is built on free software. We conclude that the VLM can articulate Points of Culture, contributing to preserving and promoting cultural diversity.
