DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DA EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR: UM OLHAR SOBRE A FORMAÇÃO DE PROFESSORES NA MODALIDADE A DISTÂNCIA

The purpose of this article is to discuss the higher education expansion, especially the teacher formation in distant learning. We present statistical data of the Higher Education Census for the year 2017, which demonstrates a significant increase in student applications over the last ten years. By analyzing this data, we found that this expansion mainly in the private sector. Therefore, based on critical authors, we look forward to discussing the dominance of this sector in the education field, whose main purpose is profit, so that we can understand whether the higher education, through private means, have contributed to the democratization or to the commodification of education.
