The study on the formation of the primary teacher is of fundamental importance for the understanding about the constitution of society and the different roles assumed by the Catholic Church that enjoyed the power of education to maintain social control. This study aims to analyze the relationship of the Catholic Church with teacher training in the Triângulo Mineiro - MG, from 1946 to 1979, based on 20 Stricto Sensu graduate studies that addressed the formation of the primary teacher in the Triângulo Mineiro. We investigate, in Stricto Sensu graduate studies that discuss the formation of the primary teacher in the Triângulo Mineiro, the state of the art of this theme. We have found 20 papers that deal with it, having as subjects 43 primary teachers, of which 21 studied in confessional schools and 22 teachers who, although they studied in secular schools, disseminated in their speech the precepts spread by the Catholic Church from 1946 to 1979. From the analyzes, we also identify that the Church was an instrument in partnership with the State for the maintenance of the social order in force between 1946 and 1979.
