This experience report aims to describe the curriculum redesign process of the Physical Education programs at UNEB. The report highlights the offering of the Bachelor’s degree in public institutions in Bahia; the challenge to the neotechnicist approach of Resolution CNE/CES 06/20; the role of the integrative curriculum component as a way to minimize the fragmentation of student education; the commitment to a critical perspective on both training and Physical Education itself; and the effort to unify the curriculum within a multi-campus university without neglecting regional engagement in local contexts. In conclusion, the curricular dispute in this case was between the “ready-made” directive package and the institution’s autonomy in curricular authorship.
