Abstract

Fighting in school Physical Education has been studied repeatedly regarding the deficient training and lack of contact with fighting prior to higher education, as justification for teachers not developing this thematic unit. The objective of this study was to describe a course plan (CP) for the thematic unit of fighting, following a chronological contextualization of the process of evolution of human civilization, from the native peoples, through navigation with the slave trade, to the sportification of fighting. Through a literature review, we gathered studies that gave us tools to build the CP and apply it. The way the CP was structured gave meaning and significance for students to adhere to the class.
