Abstract

In this text, we present an account of an afternoon with Lydia Hortélio. In this conference, the educator and musicologist reflected on “child look” to “child learn”. The “child look” is associated with the inner child has the potential of resignifying our way of life, our perception of the world and our socio-educational practices. In order to achieve this look, or to get to this level of comprehension and development, we would have to “child learn”, which means learning as a child. According to Lidya, that is only possible if we come closer to the source, that is to say to the children. In her opinion, children are left to a secondary place regarding social, cultural, and political practices, because they live in a society ruled by an adult-centered logic.
