There is some sort of social consensus regarding that school is a fundamental locus in the promotion of knowledge for children and teenagers. From the educational legislative structure in municipal/state/federal-level to pedagogical political projects of each institution, school is understood and produced as an institution of excellence in the process of knowledge production through specific subjects. However, this institution also participates in another sphere of education that has not been observed much: the use of its spaces as a place for interaction and socialization between children and teenagers, which is a deep qualitative dimension that generates learning processes that go beyond the school subjects, reaching something that pertains to citizenship and the exercise of the right to the city. This article approaches the restrictions and possibilities presented at the school’s spatiality from human experiences and researchers in course at the Centro de Ensino e Pesquisa Aplicada à Educação from the Federal University of Goiás (CEPAE-UFG).
