What characterizes the speech of the geography teacher of basic education about his professional knowledge? Based on this question, we analyzed the discourse of experienced teachers based on the qualitative approach and content analysis, by Bardin (2011), and we found that professional knowledge is embodied in teaching work, therefore it is opportune to carry out its analysis together with Geography. education and teaching performance or work. The communication of the knowledge of the Geography teacher is not simple, although it has congruences with school Geography and with his performance or work, expressing himself about his knowledge / knowledge is more complex in relation to expressing himself about the school discipline he teaches and the daily activities in schools. It is expected that this finding is relevant to the research activity in relation to the Geography teacher, his work and his professional knowledge and contributes to it with regard to the understanding of the teacher as an epistemic subject.
