This paper presents two experiences with intertwined theoretical and methodological contributions and that help us in the construction of thinking geographically, so important to Geography, throughout its existence. It results from the author's interaction with two international geographical education projects, one of them from Netherlands, by the University of Utrecht, in partnership with the University of Amsterdam, and the other, originally Portuguese, from University of Lisbon and currently developed in countries of three continents. These projects are based on university - school relationship, bringing these two instances closer together in strengthening geographical education. These experiences have reinforced the importance of Geography in the school curriculum, showing that the permanent inquiries about the building and dynamics of the territories, districts, communities where we live are basic conditions for the of citizenship.
