GEOGRAPHY DIDACTICS IN THE DEVELOPMENTAL TEACHING THEORY PERSPECTIVE

This paper discusses some of the theoretical contributions of “developmental teaching” proposed by Vasily V. Davydov to the development of geography didactics, emphasizing on, in this context, the importance of considering the necessary integration between didactic-pedagogical knowledge and disciplinary knowledge or, more specifically, between didactics and epistemology of Geography. The research findings suggest that every pedagogical-didactic approach of a subject presupposes an epistemological approach. Our aim is to favor the qualitative expansion in this field of study and, more specifically, to provide teachers and future teachers with enough resources to face the numerous challenges present in professional practice.
