Abstract

This work investigates the impact of formative evaluation procedures in the development of oral production competence in learners of Portuguese Foreign Language. We sought to determine how the appropriation of the oral evaluation criteria used in the Portuguese Language Proficiency Certificate exam contributes to the development of this ability in students preparing for the exam. The results of the action research analyzed here reveal that the implemented actions have enabled not only self-assessment practices that are more consistent with each criteria, but also the self-regulation of learning methods and strategies, leading students to a better level of preparation for the exam.

Mestre em Letras/Linguística pela Universidade Federal do Pará. Possui graduação em Letras - Hab Língua Francesa/UFPA. Atualmente cursa a licenciatura em Letras - Língua Portuguesa na Universidade Federal do Pará. Tem experiência na área de Lingüística, com ênfase em Ensino/Aprendizagem de Línguas.

Myriam Crestian Chaves da Cunha, Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), Belém, Pará, Brasil

Cursou uma licenciatura em português pela Universidade de Toulouse II (Le Mirail) - França (1980), que foi revalidada em licenciatura de francês pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1984). Em 1985, também graduou-se em Serviço Social pela Universidade Federal do Pará. Em seguida, cursou um Mestrado em Letras - Lingüística - pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1992) e um Doutorado em Ciências da Linguagem pela Universidade de Toulouse II (Le Mirail) - França (1998). Atualmente é professora Associado IV da Universidade Federal do Pará, na Faculdade de Letras Estrangeiras Modernas (Francês) e no Curso de Mestrado em Letras do Instituto de Letras e Comunicação dessa Universidade. Sua experiência de pesquisa e ensino situa-se na área de Ensino/Aprendizagem de Línguas (materna, segunda e estrangeiras), com atuação nos seguintes temas: didática das línguas, avaliação da aprendizagem em línguas (avaliação formativa, regulação e autorregulação da aprendizagem) e abordagem interacional de ensino de línguas.
