In the contemporary world, we face a context in which some dystopian narratives, once confined to science fiction works of cinema and literature, now seem to materialize in the real world. The major advancement of technology has led to the emergence of a new communicational paradigm. In turn, artificial intelligence is increasingly present in people’s daily lives, encompassing everything from basic tasks to more complex ones, across the most diverse aspects of human life. In this way, it is fundamentally important to investigate the consequences of this scenario for people’s lives and within the educational context. With this aim, the extension project “Technologies, Education and Society: Expanding Experiences” brings this theme for group study and discussion, seeking to promote reflections on dystopian narratives that frequently explore future and problematic scenarios but can serve as a powerful tool to analyze and critique social, technological, and educational issues, enabling participants to reflect on the challenges and consequences of technological innovations.
