Abstract

The school is a scenario of coexistence of multiple cultures, in the formation of its own identity and in the construction of collective memories, through agents that experience daily in their school environment. In this way, this article intends to analyze two schools in the interior of Bahia to understand the interference of the municipal public power in the process of construction of the identity and memory of the subjects. With the methodological approach of Content Analysis, we highlight as conclusive aspects the interference of the municipal government in the construction of identity and memory, especially when symbolic elements are introduced into the school environment as a mechanism for exalting the local culture.
