THE HISTORY OF BIOLOGY IN THE HISTORY OF PIBID
A formative experience report
Keywords:
Extension, History and Philosophy of Biology, Teaching material, Teacher trainingAbstract
This teaching/extension report problematizes the formative impact of PIBID (2014-2024) in the context of the Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences at the Institute of Biological Sciences (ICB) of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), based on the discussion about the training performance of graduates and the bibliographic production arising from the activities developed in the program, with the theme related to the History and Philosophy of Biology (HFBio). We noticed that the program's graduates dropped out of the course less frequently, invested in continuing training, and at least half work professionally in teaching. In relation to production, 50 works related to HFBio were prepared and socialized, which, in addition to valuing conceptual training in the area, can constitute an element of continued training for other teachers not directly involved with the program. We consider that, in addition to its contradictions, PIBID is a valuable policy regarding teacher qualification in Brazil.
