Linked to the extension project Cinema: Subjectivity, Culture and Power, from the State University of Feira de Santana, the Cineclube Psi arises with the objective of carrying out cineclub activities linked to the Psychology course and to the external community of the same university, aiming to explore the diversity of psychology in its different approaches and areas of activity, promoting varied debates and encouraging interest in the observation of cinematographic language. Paulo Freire's proposition of cultural circles was used to carry out horizontal and non-hierarchical debates, allowing active action and critical reflection of the participants. In this context, discussions about gender and sexuality were present, demonstrating their importance for political and professional training in psychology through debates on bullying, homophobia, discovery of sexuality in adolescence and psychological assessment with transgender people.
