Abstract

Abstract

This article proposes reflections about technologies in education, questioning their use as Faustian, in whose perspective nothing will be resolved, and Promethean, which considers that educational demands will be successful with the use of technologies. To undertake such reflections, authors such as Philippe Breton, Andrew Feenberg, Hermínio Martins, Francisco Rüdiger, Neil Selwyn, among others, are central to the debate. The text discusses the extreme technophobic and technophilic positions, and suggests a third way in which the possibilities, as well as the limits of the uses of technologies in education, can be considered in a broader and more contextualized way, that is, weighted, based on the critical thinking regarding the insertion of technology in the educational process, always seeking digital inclusion as an ideal within the reach of all.
